Toys, Mines, Iraq and America

By Andrew Dobbs

If this doesn't make you proud to be an American and optimistic about our mission in Iraq, nothing will.

It makes me proud to have a loved one overseas.

Update: And before you start decrying me for linking to a blog that supports President Bush, realize that just because you disagree with a blogger's personal positions doesn't mean you oppose everything he or she says.

Seems like Glurge to me. There is no full name given for the Marine and no date or city in Iraq is reported. The actions reported also seem unlikey for a small child. I expect to see this in www.snopes.com soon.

It's a nice story if it's true, but "hopeful about our mission in Iraq?" That's more than a small stretch.

Nope, still not proud to be an American.

If we were really interested in winning this war, Iraqis helping Americans would be the norm, rather than the yuletide exception.

I have to agree, I am sure I read an identical story like this in the glurge section of the Urban Legends reference pages. Probably not true--a little girl has the savvy to know where a mine was? How did they know what she was pointing to--did the soldiers speak the language? Did she speak English? And the teddy bear helped her decide to save American soldiers, who have been blowing the land and people up? That is impressive for the little girl to make the distinction between those occupying their land, (sorry, liberating their land) and those who are merely at home watching it on the tube. Thank tucker Carlson and his unfiltered look at a recent battle--not a pretty sight. The prose in this story is flowery enough to make a cow pie smell like a rose. I'm sorry, this story is not true, (but a good story if it is indeed true) and if we want to help our troops, we can BRING THEM HOME IN ONE PIECE and when they do return home, I'm sure the magical Mr. Bush can scrounge up a few bucks so that they can earn a living wage, not have to use food stamps, and perhaps those at Walter Reed can stop being ridiculed by Republican delegates wearing those half-assed purple heart band-aids. (You smear one purple heart winner, you smear anyone who has shrapnel in their ass.) And perhaps, PERHAPS, the U.S. military can armor the vehicles and soldiers properly so that those who are there now can do their jobs safely. And can they have their questions taken seriously in an open q&a session with Rummy himself?? We can honor the troops by not running smear campaigns against undeserving veterans based on their service (i.e McCain, Kerry, Gore, Cleland, etc) and not trying to invade privacy and compromise the freedom we are supposed to enjoy here, that they are supposedly fighting to preserve. Hats off to those of you with a loved one there--I have friends there, and I believe they ought to come home. But, I am just a crazy liberal, I guess. Just my humble opinion, which is what BOR is all about--we blog, we respond. Andrew, I am not reacting to you, but to the piece. Post, link anything you want. I respect your opinion.

" Iraqis helping Americans would be the norm,
rather than the yuletide exception."

It is the norm, if you read the solders blogs and letters you would know that.

But then again, that dont fit the marxocrat mass murdering mind of leftist PolPots.

Mass graves of children, found still holding toys.

Reply from the left ? "No blood for oit"

Proof that leftism, the same with their 100+ Million murdered, can walk past even mass graves of kids and feel nothing.

Good and evil is inverted in them.

Mass graves of children, and the evil they see is the united states.

Proof you people are the lowest of the low.

Afganistan and Iraq will both have their freedom, thanks to America, those on the right side that ended 14 Year olds used for sex toys then tiger food, horrific uses for plastic shreader mashines, and mass graves of children.

And history will also remember you people, and what you said, and what side you was on.

Behold world, may the left finaly be awarded the badge of universal shame. for all time.
