Like one must in politics, the trial balloon must be floated. Hey, it's time better spent than thinking about running for Prez in 2008...

I'm not a Deaniac, but I feel that Howard Dean would be an outstanding choice for DNC chair.
He's energetic, grass roots oriented, a good communicator, internet savvy, and knows how to raise money. He has already gotten to know a lot of party officials around the country and has made many friends by campaigning for local candidates.
His appointment would keep the base fired up through some very difficult times. Dean may have found an excellent role for himself as the Ron Brown of the early 21st century.
I think the Democrats need to think really hard before they make Howard Dean the voice of the Democratic Party. If they want to win in 2008 Democrats should pick someone less controversial and more appealing to a majority.

How many Americans know who Terry McAuliff is? I'm not even sure I'm spelling his name right.
Well, there is always time for publicity and PR later and trust me after the person is chosen this country will know who is leading the Democratic Party.
