Todd Baxter Won't Debate
By Byron LaMasters
I guess when you have a crappy record to run on, you don't wanna talk about it (Via Rational Rantings):
Interesting news from the Texas State House race in District 48. In the last week, Republican incumbent Todd Baxter and Democratic challenger Kelly White have gone up against each other in a few rounds of debating, and Baxter apparently didn't enjoy himself too much.
Now, in the midst of negotiations for an upcoming debate to be broadcast by the local PBS affiliate, Baxter is making a very strange request. He is asking that, during the debate, Kelly White not be allowed to listen to his responses to the questions asked him by a panel, claiming that it gives her an "unfair advantage."
Rather cowardly, if you ask me.

Hmm, don't tell my parents, Byron, but I have a sudden urge to take a bus to Austin and walk around campus in a chicken costume.
It's election time, and Jim is tempted to masquerade as poultry.
Have you ever considered whether I am sane enough to blog on your site?
I am remembering 2002... I am seeing a human voter registration card...
He has always been a lightweight. Christ, he couldn't even campaign by himself the first time--either George W. or Kay Bailey were with him, in photos or in person, holding his hand, wiping his ass. Of course he won't debate--back then, he was a nobody, and now he has a terrible record and has sold out his district. The debate I want to see, if it hasn't happened already--haven't been watching news lately--is the one where Mark Strama will wipe the floor with Jack Stick!
LOL, Andrew--I remember that. Oh, the stuff we made Jim do...hahahaha. You were a good sport, Jim.
This morning at my office I saw about six 4x8 Todd Baxter signs broken in half and tossed in the dumpster. I think a lot of the anti-Bush hatred is carrying over down the ballot.
I've heard that the Kelly White campaign has gotten some phone calls requesting Kelly White signs from some pissed off people who found Todd Baxter signs placed in their yards without permission.
Well, there's people that say they saw something, and those who document it. Thanks, Sarah.
Gee, thanks. I didn't realize I'd be called a liar, or I'd have taken a picture! I actually brought my camera to work today, but the dumpster is now filled with rotten garbage, and I do have some limits.
As far as your link goes, I'd wager that it's a lot more likely for a Kerry supporter to light a sign on fire with the intent to post the picture on the web than for a Bush vandal to stand in their yard fiddling with matches!
Not calling you a liar TM, just giving ya shit... :-)
