Who would want to look at Jimmy Swaggert "like that" anyway?
By Byron LaMasters
Jimmy Swaggert one-upped our friends Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson the other day as the lead hate mongering wingnut of the religious right in America. Falwell and Roberson just blame gays and lesbians (and feminists, abortion providers, the ACLU and PFAW, etc.) for 9/11. Swaggert, pictured above, took things a step further. Instead of merely blaming gays and lesbians for terrorism, he advocates the final solution for anyone who would look at him "like that" (although Jimmy, I really don't think ya got too much to worry about).
Anyway, I found the story on Angry Finger via alandwilliams.com.
Here's exactly what Swaggert said:
I'm trying to find the correct name for it ... this utter absolute, asinine, idiotic stupidity of men marrying men. ... I've never seen a man in my life I wanted to marry. And I'm gonna be blunt and plain; if one ever looks at me like that, I'm gonna kill him and tell God he died.
Of course, this is coming from the same guy that regisned his ministry in 1988 over "moral failures". Jimmy Swaggert should read his bible.
John 8:7 - "He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone."

One of the guys who resigned over moral failures.
I heard Jim Bakker was trying to get back in the Jesus business: http://www.rotten.com/library/bio/religion/televangelists/jim-bakker/
Seriously, these guys used to be funny to watch on Sunday mornings. You know, they'd talk about Jeeeeezus and cry a lot. You'd feel bad that little old ladies sent in money, but you figured it was their money, not yours. So you figured it was morally dubious, but nonetheless, free entertainment.
Now they are just scary. Instead of sitting around the TV, laughing at these oddballs with your children, now you have to cover their eyes or just turn it off altogether.
Lord raise up another Ronald Reagan, and take us back to a simpler time when televangelists were merely hypocritical nutballs, instead of fascist thugs.
Seriously dude, my grandpa (may he rest in peace) used to watch the PTL/Bakker racket just for kicks. I remember him fondly, sitting there with a big bag of M&Ms, with Tammy Faye on the TV crying her eyes out. This was before God created Comedy Central.
Ahh, the innocence of childhood.
