Job Growth...Cough, Cough
By Karl-Thomas Musselman
To put it visually for you.

That leaves how many more that Bush now has to create before November 2 in order to not be the first President since Hoover to have have a net loss of jobs after four years? I'm not smirking (and neither are those out of work, who can't find work as hard as they try, or are not working where they want because their job skills aren't matched to the economy). I'm disappointed.

It's not just sad, but ridiculous. I wrote on my blog how I think it is just pathetic to put out a press release saying 11 months of job production when they aren't even close to a net job growth. We shouldn't be content with 32,000 jobs in 1 month when we need 150,000 just to keep up with the expanding population. Never mind the huge job losses early in this presidency. But Bush seems to be.
Thanks to George W. Bush, America proudly has the best burger flippers on the planet.
Take that, Communist China!
But then again why does GW's lack of concern surprise us? We have known from the start that his only concern is the big corporate boys and those who can contribute large sums to his campaign. So people are out of work -- that just means that he and the boys can find someone to mow their lawn at a better price.
I'm jobless, poorly matched to the current employment environment, and, I'm ashamed to admit, I was happy when I heard the report. I've thought all along that the rosey economic/empoyment predictions were misguided.
So am I a bad person?
No, you are not a bad person. Any job growth is better than no job growth. But to play up reports like this as a growing strong economy does a disservice to reality.
Fortunatly, I am not Byron LaMasters. Too bad.
(1) Tx Hot Rod, at the very least you should buy Byron a drink. As Washingtonienne oserved, "only an idiot tries to fuck your ass when you're sober."
(2) "Thanks to George W. Bush, America proudly has the best burger flippers on the planet":
I dissent. The burger flippers were much better, and fast food establishments much more efficient and cleaner during the Reagan Administration. Of course, back then McDonald's had generous health benefits and tuition support for employees.
Brian - I say take ol Tx Hot Rod up on his offer. School hasn't started back up yet - I'm sure you can find the required 60 - 90 seconds to get the Hot Rod off!!!!
