A love story about two people who hate each other
By Jim Dallas
About four years ago, my father predicted the Republicans were on the verge of a total meltdown. "Verge" wasn't the right word, since, at that time, the GOP was able to rally together around (a) hatred of Bill Clinton and (b) love of George W. Bush.
Ezra over at Pandagon catches Andrew Sullivan observing that these two factors may no longer be significant enough to prevent catastrophe for the GOP. Are inter-partisan squabbles in Texas and elsewhere signs of impending doom for the American Right? Possibly; a boy can dream, can't he?
BONUS POINTS for any reader who can tell us which tagline for a Woody Allen movie the title of this post comes from (hint, it's after Take the Money and Run and before Annie Hall).

i, for one, never "hated" President Bill Clinton. i disliked many of the things he stood for and how he diminished the office of the Presidency. But hatred is reserved for evil. Thats probably why i don't understand many of our Democratic friends reference to hatred of our President. It's supposed to be the loyal opposition. Remeber Reagan? Wasn't that a very nice event...the presentation of the paintings of Bill and Hillary in the White House?
i have appreciated the fact that former President Clinton has supported President Bush on many of his foreign affairs. He has gone to Labor party events in England to support Tony Blair and his approach to Iraq and Afganistan and indirectly President Bush.
Hate is such an aulful word amongst friends and neighbors.
