His life summed up in one apositive phrase..."forged a conservative revolution that transformed American politics,"
I guess if he is looking back, he can be proud that of all in his life, that is most simple way to say what he will be remembered for.
What to say? Nihil nisi bonum, ergo nihil.
• Are you better off now than you were four years ago?

...the Gipper's unintended rhetorical gift to the Kerry campaign.
I have a very different view of Reagan than most people I would think. I think that Republicans give him too much credit but I also believe that Democrats don't give him enough. He didn't "singlehandedly win the Cold War" but his leadership hastened the end I would say. In a time when America was having a "crisis of confidence" he provided positive, confident leadership. He was an honest man, a man much smarter than he was given credit for and was willing to do things that pissed off his politicial power base (raise taxes, liberalize abortion, etc) when it was the right thing to do. Still, he has done a lot of harm in the long run, but I'll give him the next several days to be remembered by the country he loved.
