Republican Ralph Nader
By Byron LaMasters
Writes David Sarasohn:
Ralph Nader, who in 2000 was the worst thing to happen to civil liberties and poor people in quite a while, is winding up to do them another favor. The former Green candidate for president is traveling the college circuit, coyly hinting that he'll decide about his political plans later, but few people think he'll sit it out.
Even though even fewer think his running again would be a good idea.
This week, at the University of Wisconsin, Nader again dismissed his effect on the outcome in 2000, saying, "I think the Democrats can fairly be charged with chronic whining, and they ought to look to themselves first and foremost."
Nader not only elects Republicans, he's starting to sound like them.
Bingo. I've been saying this for the last three years. Greens and Republicans? Same thing...

I have a friend, Forrest Wilder, who is a very active Green Party activist who is adamant that the Greens not run a candidate, though he thinks they will. They have to run someone to keep ballot access, but they ought to run an obscure person like David Cobb or some little known professor or even Winona LaDuke (Nader's 2000 running mate) and get out of the Dems way.
that seems counter the democratic spirit. i'd vote for the green party just to support a third party that actually has some momentum (maybe not anymore i don't know) Ralph Nader has said again and again that the demicans and republicrats are the same. they are both owned and operated by big business. follow the money. i'll probably vote for dean anyway because he has the most grassroot support and least amount of big money in his pockets.
