Meet the Next Senator / Governor for Alabama

(Former) Judge Roy Moore.
I'm glad he's been removed, because he violated the orders of a federal judge, but on the other hand this kind of thing turns him into a martyr (if he wasn't already), and he can probably get elected to whatever office he wants in Alabama. Eh... oh well.

I think even the Republicans are a bit embarrassed by this guy and they will try to sideline him if he gets those kinds of ambitions.

Yeah, but Alabama has a great tradition of electing awful demagogues- most notably George Wallace. This guy is such a douche.
I think 90% of the reason that the South elects morons is because it wants to piss off the north. It probably has something to do with losing the civil war.

You know Joshua, I couldn't agree more. Senator AlGore, former Gov. Clinton, Sen. Hollings, Rep. Jackson Lee, Rep. McKinney. The South does elect a lot of morons. Just not as many as the North does (Schumer, Sen. Clinton, Leahy, Jeffords, Kennedy, Pataki (yes, I know he is GOP, but he still sucks), Sarbanes, ...
