My 14 Block Trip to Campus...
By Byron LaMasters
Would be a journey through 3 congressional districts under the HB3 - Conference Committee Report 10-9-03. I would reside in district 10, represented by a Republican from Austin (if I'm lucky *cringe*) or from the Houston / Katy area. The campus of the University of Texas would be located in a district represented by Lamar Smith of San Antonio, and in between I'd have the opportunity to travel three blocks through a district likely to be represented by a McAllen Democrat:

Tomorrow I'm going to take photos from the new districts--a short 5-minute walk from my apartment at 38th and Guadalupe to 38th and Lamar.
I am in District 25.
Omit, I'll be sure to link to it...
I live at 42nd and Ave C, so it's just a short stroll to the spot where the three districts meet for me. I think I'll go down tomorrow morning and walk around in a circle a few times to cross the lines. Isn't that right where that strange cafeteria is? I've never gone into it, but it's always sort of intrigued me because it seems so uninviting to the public from the outside, like a medical supply wholesaler or title company or something. It intimidates me because it doesn't seem to want my business. Does anyone ever eat there?
Sorry. Missed it today (due to rain). Will try tomorrow at the locus of the districts. "Where Districts Meet"
