A step closer to Dictatorship

By Byron LaMasters

Well, Kos hit it right on the head. Republicans don't like election results, so they want to change the rules (California, Texas, Colorado, etc.). But now that's not good enough, so they start cancelling them. Or at least they consider it.

I blogged earlier that Phil King (R-Weatherford) had filed a bill to pospone the filing deadline in order for the justice department to clear a redistricting map.

"Changing the rules" in California? The recall law has been on the books since the redwoods were just twigs. And the only one in California trying to change the rules is Gray Davis with his lawsuit to postpone the election.

he should be a little more concerned about the Nevada Surpreme Court essentially overturning a law that would have checked its power.

correction -the law limited the legislature to a 2/3rds majority required to go into deficit spending, and the Courts concurred with the Governor who happens to be a Republican that the law really didn't mean what it said, that there were other expansive prenumbras that justified ignoring the statute, sorta like the SCOTUS on a host of cases...
