The Media Spin Begins
By Byron LaMasters
Just finished listening to State Sen. Florence Shapiro (R-Plano) whine on the radio about how the Senate Democrats were abdicating their responsibility, and that it's their fault that the Senate won't be able to deal with important issues like school finance and government reorganization. Their fault? What a joke. Both of those issues could have been taken care of in the past 30 days had Republicans been interested in solving them, as opposed to fighting amongst themselves over the best way to screw senior congressmen like Martin Frost, Chet Edwards and Charlie Stenholm who bring millions of dollars to our state every year.

When Democrats take back the House, sometime in 2012, can I join the GOP quorum breakers in St. Kitts or some place with cushy offshore accounts and drinks with little umbrellas in em'?
Please don't bother waiting--go ahead and go NOW!
Reading the Proclamation from Governor Perry calling for the second special session. The ONLY subject to be considered is the redistricting.
For this, we taxpayers will be out another $1.7 Million.
Watching all this from Oklahoma has been good for a laugh. Maybe if your Democratic leaders in congress were willing to take their lumps and act like a minority party, you could avoid spending another $1.7 million next month as well...
I don't think anywhere in the minority handbook does it states that we must suck it up. As the minority party, we must yell out when the majority is disrespecting minority rights.
Maybe if your majority party would actually open their eyes and clean their ears for once, we could save $1.7 million bucks.
